Q&A

Can I pay on-site?
Reservations are generally accepted only through our website and require advance payment.
Is there a bath?
The Villa rooms (Raku, Wa, Doma, Kura, and Fuji) feature a hinoki wood bath and a private sauna. Rooms in the Reception House (Ichie, Ichiro, and Ichihime) are equipped with a Spage system bath. (Please note that the main building does not have private saunas.)
Is there a TV in the room?
TVs are available only in the Reception House rooms (Ichie, Ichiro, and Ichihime). The separate Villas (Raku, Wa, Doma, Kura, and Fuji) do not have TVs, but all rooms are equipped with projectors for your enjoyment.
Do you have smoking rooms?
All buildings are non-smoking. A designated smoking area will be shown to you at check-in.
Can we stay with more guests than the room capacity?
Room capacities are set in accordance with fire safety regulations. For the safety of our guests, we cannot accommodate more than the stated capacity.
Can children stay at the hotel?
As a rule, we do not accommodate children. However, in some cases we may be able to make an exception. Please contact us at the time of booking to discuss your request.
Can I stay with my pet?
Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate pets.
Can I check in early?
As a general rule, we do not offer early check-in. Standard check-in time is from 3:00 PM onward. If your arrival time changes, please let us know as soon as possible.
Can I store my luggage before check-in or have it sent in advance?
Yes, we can hold your luggage prior to check-in. If you plan to bring it in person before check-in, please inform us of your arrival time in advance, as staff may not always be on-site.
If sending your luggage by courier, please address it to the location listed on our website. Be sure to include your full name (as used for the reservation) and your check-in date on the shipping label. We kindly ask that delivery be scheduled for the morning of your check-in day.
Is parking available?
Yes, we offer complimentary parking for our guests.
Is the property wheelchair accessible?
Unfortunately, our facilities are not fully wheelchair accessible. As we have preserved much of the charm of the original kominka (traditional Japanese house), there are several steps and uneven areas throughout the property. We appreciate your understanding.
What can I do during my stay? Any recommendations?
Just a short walk from the inn is Takumishuku, Japan’s largest hands-on craft center. Here you can try bamboo latticeware, pottery, indigo and tea leaf dyeing, woodworking, lacquerware, and more. Our location is also surrounded by nature and is perfect for a relaxed stroll to take in the fresh air and scenery.
Can I extend my checkout time?
Yes, we can offer a one-hour extension.
Will the menu change if I stay for multiple nights?
We’re sorry, but the menu remains the same for consecutive stays. Please contact staff for other suggestions.
Can you accommodate food allergies?
We will do our best to accommodate food allergies or ingredients you prefer to avoid if you inform us at the time of booking. Please note that we cannot accept requests made on the day of your stay. As our kitchen and utensils are shared, we may not be able to accommodate guests with severe allergies.
